Charles Yeterian, Novus EVP, participated in two recent events organized in Kuala Lumpur and sponsored by the Central Bank (Bank Negara) of Malaysia and the Labuan Financial Services Authority, respectively. Both events were held at the state-of-the-art conference hall of Sasana Kijang.
The first event, the Global Islamic Finance forum (GIFF) held 18-20 September 2012, saw over 300 participants from financial communities of different countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and South East Asia (SEA) regions. Novus participated in the session at the Industry Specific Dialogue on Transportation & Aviation, alongside other panelists from Malaysia Airlines, KFH Malaysia, BNP Paribas Najmah and KPMG.
The second event, entitled “Leasing for Growth”, was held on 1st November 2012 and comprised several speakers who explained to the 200 participants the benefit of using Labuan, Malaysia as a base for conducting efficient off-shore leasing activities, for lessees based in Malaysia, other countries in the region or even internationally. Novus presented “A Case Study from an End User perspective” and relayed its experience in operating leasing entities out of Labuan, used repeatedly in leasing transactions with MAS, Malaysia’s national flag carrier
